Josh has been practicing acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in Montpelier, Vermont since 2003. In that time, he has come to love our central Vermont community through the relationships he has gained from his patient care. Josh has a genuinely enthusiastic interest in his patients, always seeking the root of the presenting illness or dysfunction. He is told that he is a compassionate listener and an effective practitioner.
While pursuing his pre-med degree from Emory University in Atlanta, GA, Josh took a semester break from his studies and traveled extensively throughout the world. During this time, he explored what medical care was like in other countries and before our Western medical culture evolved into what it is today. The Chinese culture and perspective on medicine greatly attracted him to eventually live in Shenyang, China for a year and, after a three-year Master’s program, graduate from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, OR. He is a diplomate in acupuncture from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and is licensed in the state of Vermont. Josh uses the various tools of Chinese Medicine, including acupuncture, herbs, and massage to support his patients toward improved health.
Josh strongly values an integrative model of care, working with other providers in a team effort for his patients’ greatest benefit. He spends two half days a week at the National Life Cancer Treatment Center, part of Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin, Vermont helping patients more comfortably move through their cancer treatment. He is the founder of River Street Wellness, a collaborative of practitioners under one roof at 301 River Street in Montpelier working together to care for the central Vermont community. Josh lives in East Montpelier with his wife, Michelle, and children, Ruby, Jaden, and Hazel.
